COUNCIL SABBATICAL CONTINUES TO SHOCK PRESBYTERS
At the January Presbytery Council meeting the council began its Sabbatical year. The time spent in worship and discernment began to lay out a process. One of the assigned tasks of individuals was to write about "compeling issues that would support the transformation process of our Presbytery. Richard Nordgren writes:
"When Presbyterians in Central Washington were told their Council urged them to consider the gospel of Jesus Christ compels them to be gospel, they quickly grasped the implications of the offer. It would mean, as one member said, "we would have to do less business in stale old ways and do more modeling of the peace and salvation found in Christ." Another said, "Say, that would be a transformation of our thinking about Presbytery." Submitted by Richard Nordgren.
